What brought you to Mohawk College?

After high school I knew college was my next step in my academic career. After thoroughly researching my chosen program of graphic design and already being familiar with Hamilton, Mohawk was my natural choice.

Tell us about your favourite Mohawk experience?

I had so many wonderful experiences while attending Mohawk, but my favourite would have to be a tie between attending the Lights concert in The Arnie in 2011. She was a favourite singer of mine at the time and the concert was awesome! The other favourite experience of mine while at Mohawk was working part time in the Heath Lounge. I was a student employee who worked with wonderful colleagues and was able to engage with the student body, while also completing my assignments on the job. It was the perfect part time job as a busy student who needed a bit of extra pocket money.

What impact has Mohawk had on your life?

Mohawk College truly did provide me with the necessary on-the-job skills I needed to get me working right after graduation. I began my career part time at a local newspaper in Collingwood, ON and now work full time in Burlington, ON in marketing and corporate communications. The foundation built while at Mohawk set me up for success in my career. Attending Mohawk College also provided me with long lasting friendships. This September my friends and I will celebrate 12 years of friendship and it all started with Mohawk. Some of our core memories happened at the Fennell campus and still make us laugh all these years later.

What are you up to now?

After college I was living at home in Collingwood, ON. Since 2021 I have moved back to Hamilton, ON and currently work for an insurance company based in Burlington. My role is a Marketing & Communications Coordinator and I love what I do! My friends from Mohawk and I still see each other often and talk daily.
